Robert Gilchrist, P.Eng., M.Eng., P.T.O.E., Principal
is a transportation/traffic engineer
with over thirty years of experience in the transport systems planning, geometric design
and traffic operations. He has been undertaking collision investigation and reconstruction
assignments since 1992. His work in traffic operations includes a range of analyses from
detailed intersection specific issues (e.g., queue reach) to broadly based community access
issues. He has been responsible for several video animations used as trial evidence.
Consideration of the time-space relationship for driver decisions / task performance in the
assessment of traffic control device applications or driver performance is routinely
considered in collision reconstruction cases.
